This silver wire and rock anniversary tree honors an enduring union between two people. It captures
two separate trees as they emerge from their own unique roots and eventually fuse and entwine into
a single form. In making this work, I seek to emphasize the individual features of each tree but, above
all, I want to celebrate the beauty and strength of their enjoined branches.

Windswept copper wire tree with roots mounted on rocks and finished with clear high gloss. I
constructed this tree out of recycled copper wire that developed its distressed and uniquely beautiful character under the influence of strong electric currents and overheating due to short circuits. Its rich patina is also the result of exposure to the elements, especially moisture. These natural processes imbue the wire with a complex specter of color.

dramatically from the stone to reveal its bare and twisting roots, which struggle provide the tree with
nourishment for survival.
