David Carriel
Photographer
David Carriel, age 58, was born the 3rd of nine children and is a lifelong resident of Belleville, Illinois. He has been married to his wife Susan, for 34 years and is the proud father to 2 children, Alaina and Ryan. Although he has enjoyed photography for many years, he has only become more “serious” about photography in the last 5 years since joining online photography groups which piqued his interest which has grown into a passion for finding, and capturing beauty, in unexpected places, often right in our own neighborhoods.
Due to David’s regular job working night shift as a machinist, he often embarks on impromptu photo shoots in the middle of the night, after work, particularly when unusual weather conditions or low lying clouds make for dramatic night landscape shots. He considers himself to be a self-taught enthusiast who is looking forward to many more years of learning and developing better techniques, and would like to start traveling more to see some of natures splendors outside of the St. Louis area, as well.
